Visitor’s Center/Chamber Building Ribbon Cutting

Clearlake, CA – June 13th, 2017

Over 70 people attended the ribbon cutting celebrating the completion of the Visitor’s Center/Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce building on Saturday, June 10th. Mayor Russ Perdock and Board members of both the Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce and the Lake County Chamber of Commerce were there along with public officials, volunteers, and interested public members.

There was visible excitement and satisfaction among the crowd about how wonderful the rehabilitation of the building was. The County of Lake contributed $100,000 to the rehabilitation of the building and the City of Clearlake has provided additional funding and personnel to work on the rehabilitation. Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce President, Denise Loustalot, and Mayor Russ Perdock were both extremely pleased with the results of the rehab as well and had nothing but praise for the community members who put in a tremendous amount of time on this project. “Mike Vandiver was really the driver on this project,” said Mayor Russ Perdock, a comment echoed by Chamber President Denise Loustalout. Loustalout gave a brief history of the building before cutting the ribbon to officially open the Visitor’s Center.

City Manager, Greg Folsom, stated “The Visitor’s Center is going to be one of the jewels of the city, not so much because it is a beautiful building, which it is, but because of the love that the community put into making it such a beautiful building. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this project.”

There will be another opportunity to enjoy an event at the Visitor’s Center/Chamber building on Saturday, June 24th when the Chamber hosts their annual Luau event. Tickets are available at the Chamber office or from Chamber Board members.
