Clearlake, CA – August 2, 2017
The City of Clearlake celebrated a hugely successful first annual National Night Out event at Highlands Park on Tuesday, August 1st. The Clearlake Police Department hosted the event that included representatives from Lake County Fire Protection District, the US Army, and Adventist Health.
Attendees were able to enjoy free hot dogs, snow cones, and cotton candy, and the kids loved the bounce houses and the rock climbing wall that the US Army had set up. Acting Chief Tim Celli was very appreciative of the turnout and participation stating, “I want to thank our community members who were able to come and join, as well as our employees and volunteers who took time out of their schedules to participate. It was awesome to see our employees, families, community members and friends interacting in a such a great environment. Often public safety personnel interact with community members in a time of emergency, crisis or other circumstance that does not afford the opportunity to interact with each other in such a positive manner.”
According to City Manager, Greg Folsom, “This was the first time that the City of Clearlake has participated in this national event that is designed to promote police-community partnerships and enhance the relationship between law enforcement and the community it serves. It was a lot of work to plan this event, but it turned out great and we hope to continue as an annual event. Thank you to the businesses and individuals who stepped up big time to contribute to making this a great event.”
The following businesses and individuals donated to the event:Carl’s Jr., Castle Donuts, Foods Etc., From Me to You Fun Packed Inflatables, Griffin’s Furniture, Grocery Outlet, Linda Peralta, Lisa’s, Lou Baird, Mendo Mill, People Services, Realty World, Roger Sciutto, Safeway, Sears, Tire Pros, US Army, Walmart.
