2018 Personal Marijuana Cultivation Permit Application

The Personal Marijuana Cultivation Ordinance No. 197-2017 is a result of several months of work by a Council Ad Hoc Committee with various views on the cultivation issue.  This ordinance was reviewed by the Planning Commission and approved by the City Council on April 27, 2017.
Applications for a cultivation permit will be available at City Hall during business hours and on the website beginning Monday March 19th and are due no later than April 30th.  The permit is good for one year.  The cost of the permit is $250.

Grow sites must be enclosed within a single, square, fenced area no larger than 10' by 10'. There must be a permanent, legal, residence on the parcel. The parcel must have a permanent water source.

Proposition 64 allows up to six plants to legally be grown inside a residence.  Under city ordinance, no more than six plants total are allowed to be grown on a property, whether indoors or outdoors, and a permit is required to cultivate marijuana outdoors for personal use only.

Selling marijuana cultivated for personal use is illegal and commercial cannabis cultivation requires additional state and local permits.
